چکیده

metabolic syndrome is a chronic low-grade inflammation condition which is associated with central obesity, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance and hypertension. inflammation in metabolic syndrome is not only associated with elevated serum inflammatory markers, such as c-reactive protein (crp), but also, is associated with low-grade inflammation in adipose tissue and releasing of adipokines. higher secretion of adipokines such as adiponectin and leptin, activated macrophages, and signaling pathways such as nuclear factor kappa b (nfkβ) are reported in adipocytes. it seems that more knowledge regarding the role of inflammatory markers in adipose tissue may be useful in management of metabolic syndrome.

Adipose Tissue Dysfunction in Nascent Metabolic Syndrome

The metabolic syndrome (MetS) confers an increased risk for both type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Moreover, studies on adipose tissue biology in nascent MetS uncomplicated by T2DM and/or CVD are scanty. Recently, we demonstrated that adipose tissue dysregulation and aberrant adipokine secretion contribute towards the syndrome's low-grade chronic proinflammatory ...

Immunopathology of Adipose Tissue during Metabolic Syndrome.

Excess energy intake and a sedentary lifestyle have led to increasing incidence of obesity which is a major risk factor for the development of insulin resistance. Research in the last two decades has revealed that chronic-low grade inflammation in adipose tissue is a key link between obesity and insulin resistance. As a result, adipose tissue is now considered an active immune organ with a key ...

Role of Adipose Tissue in Metabolic System Disorders Adipose Tissue is the Initiator of Metabolic Diseases

Fats are one of the most important components of the human body, which are distributed as structural and metabolic molecules. Lipids are sporadically present in different tissues, i.e. bone marrow, brain and AT. AT is one of the largest and highly specialized connective tissues, and that is composed of different cell types. This diversity of cells in the AT represents its vast function and impo...

Role of adiponectin and proinflammatory gene expression in adipose tissue chronic inflammation in women with metabolic syndrome

BACKGROUND The purpose of this research was to study the gene expression of interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) and adiponectin (AdipoQ) genes in the visceral (omental, mesenteric) and subcutaneous adipose tissue depots in metabolic syndrome (MS). We studied 23 women with MS, with a mean age of 50.7...

Adipose tissue at the crossroads in the development of the metabolic syndrome, inflammation and atherosclerosis.

The authors analyze insulin resistance, the metabolic syndrome and endothelial dysfunction as consequence of a common antecedent, a low grade inflammation, indicating that in obesity there is a chronically activated inflammatory state of the adipose tissue. Furthermore, the inflammatory signaling is discussed according to the adipose tissue depot, visceral or subcutaneous.

Mechanisms of Chronic State of Inflammation as Mediators That Link Obese Adipose Tissue and Metabolic Syndrome

The metabolic syndrome is a cluster of cardiometabolic alterations that include the presence of arterial hypertension, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and abdominal obesity. Obesity is associated with a chronic inflammatory response, characterized by abnormal adipokine production, and the activation of proinflammatory signalling pathways resulting in the induction of several biological marker...
